“Christopher Robin! Will you kindly shake your umbrella and say ‘tut tut it looks like rain!’?”
There seems to be a little theme happening here. lol. Winnie the Pooh! My littlest is currently in Pooh love and how can anyone blame her? We are a family of Pooh lovers!
So …. it’s raining. It’s been raining since yesterday evening. I think we have a break coming later, and it’ll be a welcome break for many I am sure. My husband spent the better half of his day helping a friend out with some flooding issues, and I have been checking in on friends and family making sure everyone is good, safe, and dry. But the our little one just wants to go outside and PLAY!!
She loves puddle jumping!
As much as I would have loved to have gone out today … these images are from a few weeks ago … it was just a little too much and she’s been sniffling the past few days. So I wanted to play it safe and felt we needed to stay indoors. She was good for a few hour, playing with her brothers, playing and reading with mama, but then her melt down happened. She was begging to go outside … and so I needed something to keep her busy and distracted! Pronto!
We hit the kitchen and pulled out the ingredients for homemade play dough! And it worked! We made (lavender) Eeyore Play dough and she stayed entertained and relaxed for a good hour! Just enough time to run us into nap time!! SCORE! Recipe for our NO COOK play dough can be found at the very end of this post.
And while she squished and pounded, I read one of my favorite books. I keep this one out of her reach, I’ve had this for sometime. I snagged this book on a road trip out east with my husband, we were newly married and were North Carolina bound. We stopped at a few antique malls along the way, North Carolina was full of them! Some of my most favorite treasures came from that trip! Ahhh memories…..
The memories of how the book came into my life and the countless times I’ve had littles on my lap as we read the stories…. simply priceless.
Thanks for popping in! I hope you are all dry and having a nice relaxing weekend with all your loves! Do you have a favorite play dough recipe? Feel free to share it in the comments, I’m always looking for new recipes.
